TECH TALK WEBINAR: FEBRUARY 7

CLIMATE ACTION IN STRUCTURAL DESIGN

The Structural Division of CSCE created a Task Group to look at Structural Engineering and Climate Action. Using background, policy review, and a case study, this Tech Talk will present the initial two recommendations from this group, which have underlined the importance of increasing awareness among the structural engineering community of the impact of our design choices and encouraging more practice advisories like those published recently by Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.

Attendees will hear from Dr. Tom Morrison, Principal Engineer of Heritage Standing Inc; Natasha Jeremic, Manager Codes and Standards – Sustainability at the Canadian Wood Council; and Dr. Fadi Oudah, Associate Professor at Dalhousie University. Their combined knowledge and experience spans global credentials and CSCE background, presenting consultant, industry representative, and academic viewpoints to a current and urgent topic.

A confirmation email will be sent upon completion of webinar registration. Registration closes on February 7, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. EST. A Zoom link with passcode will be emailed to all registrants shortly after registration closes.
